I can’t express how much [MAPP 3D] has improved the coverage and linearity of the system from the edge of the stage to the back of the room. I was able to position the arrays for near perfect coverage, without the need for delay speakers. The addition of two 2100-LFC made balanced low frequency coverage much easier. ”

Meyer Sound systems powered phenomenal performances by internationally acclaimed artists in a variety of genres at the 35th season of the Savannah Music Festival, which wrapped up last week in Savannah, GA. The 2024 season ran from March 28 – April 13, with more than 60 performances including sets by Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, North Mississippi Allstars feat. Bobby Rush, Samara Joy, Lena Jonsson Trio, Oumou Sangaré, and many more.

“It was a great year!” said Chris Evans, the festival’s lead audio engineer. “After a few years of working out the logistics of a couple of new venues, I feel this year was one of the best sounding festivals in my 15 years with SMF.”

The main stage at The Lucas Theater of the Arts was powered by 2100‑LFC low-frequency control elements for the first time, along with our LEOPARD compact linear line array loudspeakers and 900‑LFC compact low-frequency control elements. The system was designed using our MAPP3D system design and prediction tool.

“This year was the first year I designed the system with MAPP 3D,” said Evans. “Wow! I can’t express how much this improved the coverage and linearity of the system from the edge of the stage to the back of the room. The Lucas is a very difficult space to cover, as the balcony has a steep vertical rake compared to the main floor. I was able to position the arrays for near perfect coverage, without the need for delay speakers. The addition of two 2100-LFC made balanced low frequency coverage much easier. Those subs are incredible.”

Other stages were powered by Meyer Sound systems as well, including the Metal Building at Trustees’ Garden and the North Garden Assembly Room at Ships of Sea Maritime Museum, which deployed combinations of ULTRA‑X40 compact loudspeakers, ULTRA‑X20 compact wide coverage loudspeakers, and 750‑LFC very compact low-frequency control elements. All Meyer Sound systems were provided by Rock N’ Road Audio.
