Meyer Sound has expanded its footprint for ISE 2019, with this year’s larger stand (1-M90) encompassing more new and existing product offerings plus interactive displays and a spacious hospitality area for relaxed, in-depth engagement with dealers, consultants and end-users. Booth highlights include two new product debuts — a versatile IntelligentDC power supply and an updated UPQ loudspeaker series — plus the unveiling of an entirely new point source loudspeaker design.
ISE will offer the first look anywhere at Meyer Sound’s forthcoming all-new point source loudspeaker, a distinct departure from prior designs. Based on technologies developed for the LEO Family line arrays, the new point source model features a distinctive driver configuration, new amplifiers and on-board processing, a rotatable horn, innovative rigging options, and an unprecedented power-to-size/weight ratio. This powerful new product will be available for listening demos at the Amsterdam Hilton on the hour, every hour on February 5th and 6th. ISE is the premiere of this breakthrough new product. Our newest loudspeakers will be showcased by a live performance controlled by a sneak peek of our GALAXY-based Spacemap LIVE spatial mixing platform.
“Our new point source loudspeaker is small and powerful and brings LEO Family power clarity and Native Mode ease of use into a modern, lightweight multi-purpose loudspeaker. The new point source loudspeaker is a perfect solution for applications that need sonic transparency and exceptionally even coverage control,” says Senior Vice President of Marketing John McMahon. “We are excited to debut this at ISE. The price point is competitive and we expect this will soon be a must-have in any inventory.”
The ISE stand will be anchored by a Sonic Lounge and will also feature interactive displays depicting R&D and manufacturing at Meyer Sound’s Berkeley campus; a cutaway of a LINA line array loudspeaker revealing the quality of components and meticulous craftsmanship; and a media nook for Facebook Live interviews. Schedules will be posted daily.
“At ISE we know that many attendees are looking to discuss in-depth solutions tailored to their needs,” notes McMahon. “By integrating the spacious Sonic Lounge into our stand, and by bringing over more top-level design services and support personnel, we’ll be able to give them the time and attention they deserve.”
Two other new products, both shipping soon, also make their global debut at ISE. The MPS‑482HP, a two-channel, half rack-space power supply with audio and 48V DC, greatly expands the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of Meyer Sound’s exclusive IntelligentDC remotely self-powered systems. The popular and proven UPQ series has been expanded with the new UPQ‑D3 model, which offers a third 80° x 80° coverage option and brings to the series a new class D amplifier module. With the two current models now designed at UPQ‑D1 and UPQ‑D2, the new module provides optimized phase and frequency response. The new redesigned cabinets retain the same exterior dimensions, driver complement and rigging compatibility, while reducing overall weight by more than 12 percent.
Also on view is the new USW‑210P narrow compact subwoofer, measuring a scant 12 inches both wide and deep. Designed to pack more low frequency punch into less space, the USW-210P houses two 10-inch drivers for more output than typical 12-inch driver subwoofers and also leverages the port design of the 1100-LFC for extremely low distortion.
Meyer Sound’s M‑Noise, a new proprietary test signal that facilitates more accurate measurement of a loudspeaker system’s peak linear output level, will be featured in the video program showing on the stand’s large screen. Developers of M-Noise will be available in the Sonic Lounge to explain the benefits of M-Noise in tuning loudspeaker systems from any manufacturer.
Richard Bugg, Meyer Sound’s digital products solutions architect, will host an AVIXA FlashTracks presentation entitled “Addressing Challenges for AV Using Ethernet and AVB.” A shortened version of the AVIXA MasterClass on the same topic, this session will be held February 5 at stand 13-N110.
