The UPJ-1P provides full bandwidth frequency response down
to 66 Hz, but if you need more low-frequency energy, Meyer
Sound subwoofers such as the USW-1P can achieve frequency response
down to 32 Hz, extending system response appreciably and increasing
the acoustic power of a system in the lowest frequencies. UPJ-1P
loudspeakers and subwoofers can be easily daisy-chained using
the loop feature on the user panel. The individual loudspeakers
will utilize their internal crossovers to appropriately divide
the full-range signal.
For most applications, a ratio of two UPJ-1P loudspeakers
to each subwoofer will yield effective, balanced results
in frequency response and headroom. The ideal ratio of UPJ-1P
loudspeakers to subwoofers depends on the configuration of
the system, the application, and the frequency content of
the signal being reproduced.

In addition, Meyer Sound's line drivers – LD-1A
or LD-2 – can be used to drive a UPJ-1P system with subwoofers.
The line driver's filters will flatten overall frequency response
and provide extra headroom. The UPJ-1P loudspeakers in the
system receive their signal following a high-pass filter, while
the subwoofers apply their normal internal crossover frequencies
to a full-range signal.
