Version Release 3.9.0 - Code Date: July 14, 2011 - Release Date: July 19, 2011

Global Changes and Enhancements:

Layer Manager and Layer Control selector/indicator. Layers are like transparent overlays on which you organize objects in a MAPP Online Pro project. You can organize Loudspeakers, Loudspeaker Systems, and Visual Aids. Microphones cannot be assigned to any layer. Every drawing includes a layer named 0. Layer 0 cannot be deleted or renamed. It has one purpose: To ensure that every project includes at least one layer.

Layer Manager
Displays a list of the layers in the Sound Field Window. You can add, delete, and rename layers, change their properties, apply changes in real time. You do not need to click OK or Apply to view property changes.

Create Layer
Creates a new layer. The list displays a layer named Layer 1. The name is selected so that you can enter a new layer name immediately. The new layer inherits the properties of the currently selected layer in the layer list (visible or locked). The Create button adds Layers sequentially: Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 3, etc. The new layer is created below the last currently selected layer. The generic layer names can be changed.

Delete Layer
Deletes selected layers. Any objects that are on layers that are deleted are automatically moved to the default Layer 0 which cannot be deleted.

Set Active Layer
Sets the selected layer as the active layer. Objects that you create are drawn or inserted on the active layer. This can also be done if no objects are selected in the sound field and a current layer is selected from the Layer Drop Menu

Visible or Hidden Layers
You can use layers to control the visibility of objects. Objects on hidden layers are invisible and do not hide other objects. Loudspeakers on hidden layers cannot be predicted.

Locked/Unlocked Layers
Layers can be locked to prevent objects from being modified. When a layer is locked, none of the objects on that layer can be modified until you unlock the layer. Locking layers reduces the possibility of modifying objects accidentally. You cannot select an object that is on a locked layer. Loudspeakers on locked layers can be predicted.

Layer Control (Drop-Down Menu)
This feature was created for those who are used to AutoCAD layer selection and changing objects to other layers. It will display the current layer if no objects are selected, or it will show the layer of a selected object. If two or more objects are selected and they are on different layers, the layer control will show "various" to indicate that selected objects are on more than one unique layer.
WARNING: Be careful about how you use this control, layer changes cannot be undone! If you have multiple objects selected that are on various layers and you choose another layer from the layer control before deselecting objects, all selected objects will move to that layer.

Visual Aids can be labeled from either the Architectural or Multi-Level Visual Aids dialog.

Multiple channel settings can be loaded in the User Settings area of the Saved Settings Window. This allows the user to load multiple saved settings by selecting more than one saved settings .xml file.

Tool Buttons have been replaced with icons and tool tips.

Help Menu > Check For Updates > opens MAPP Online Pro product installation web page. From here the user can check the current posted Standalone release of MAPP Online Pro against the version already downloaded to their computer. The scaling of the UPJunior's Frequency Response and Band Spectrum have been updated in MAPP Online Pro. The Linear-Frequency-Weighted Average and Peak SPL remain the same. Previously the UPJunior measurements contained extraneous noise at sub-sonic frequencies which biased the Frequency Response and Band Spectrum to be lower than their actual values. A and C weighted SPL levels are also affected. Sound Field predictions which contain only UPJuniors will not be affected.
However, predictions that contain UPJuniors along with other speakers models will be affected. As a result of this discovery, all other loudspeakers available in MAPP Online Pro have been reviewed and do not include any extraneous data.

Meyer Sound has made MAPP Online Pro available to our users for some years, and during that time our methods and procedures for measuring loudspeakers have evolved. Several weeks ago we started a review and audit of the data we use in our predictions. We noticed some inconsistencies in the calibrations we use for level predictions in MAPP Online Pro. The issue was identified and corrected; the calibrations were adjusted accordingly and made part of the current prediction data set. Our primary goal is to provide accurate and reliable predictions. MICA was added to the list of Loudspeakers as well as the MG-MICA Top grid.
NOTE: Changing any single MICA to use an extended position will decrease the number of MICA's within a single loudspeaker system. Remember that for every single extended link used, you must add one MICA to the array.

MVC-5 was added as a single element in the Loudspeaker System builder. It will not be available in the legacy Individual Loudspeaker window.

Added support for MG-2D ground stacking
NOTE: The direction of the sound pressure level for these loudspeaker systems is the inversion of flown loudspeaker systems.

Added support for MG-1D rigging positions.

Added support for MTG-1D rigging positions.

Added support for Center of Gravity for MG-2D and MG-3D/M.
The "Array COG" found in the view menu will track the center of gravity of any M2D, MILO, M3D, and M3D-Sub array when using the MG-2D with M2D or MG-3D/M with MILO, M3D, and/or M3D-Subs. The MG-2D top grid has updated graphics which will assist the user in finding the correct center hole for single-point flown configurations.

KNOWN ISSUES:
The center lines and array COG will be temporarily set to extend beyond the sound field.

Version Release 2.1.40 - Code Date: February 9, 2005

Enhancements were made to the dxf import feature.

Added support for MG-2D Transition Frame allows first M2D to achieve angles between 0 and -7.

Version Release 2.1.37 - Code Date: January 27, 2005

MILO 60 was added to the list of Individual Loudspeakers.

Version Release 2.1.36 - Code Date: January 26, 2005

UNDO: One level of "Undo" was added to the program.
NOTE: If you move an object and then click elsewhere in the Sound Field it represents a new event and the previous action is then cleared from the buffer. If you accidentally move an object and you wish to undo the action, execute the undo command before you deselect the object.

The Delete Confirmation Dialog Box was removed.
NOTE: If you accidentally Delete an object, use the "Undo" command to restore it. Remember that is currently only one step! If you select elsewhere it represents a new event and the undo buffer is cleared.

Light Gray was added to the list of background colors.

MILO 60 vertical data was added to the Loudspeaker System model list.

The HTML output has been made compliant with XHTML 1.0.

The existing "Branch" labels in Loudspeaker and Loudspeaker System were all changed to "Processor Output" to be compliant with SIM3 Version 1.6.

The "Branch" Label was removed from Microphone Properties.
(This will be implemented on a future release.)

The "Report" submenu was removed. Both reports are now at the main level of the "Tools" menu.

"Loudspeaker System Report" was added to the Pop-Up menu.

"Enabled" was also added to the Pop-Up Menu.
NOTE: If a mixed group of enabled and disabled audio elements are selected, "Enabled" will not show in the Pop-Up Menu.

Version 2.1 HISTORY:

  1. Dialog and Visual Enhancements
    • The Microphone Dialog has been reformatted to be consistent with the Loudspeaker Dialog.
    • The Sound Field annotation table has been reformatted to be consistent with the Virtual SIM annotation table.
  2. Menu Names
    • MAPP Online Pro has a few changes in the application menus.
    • Every session is now labeled as a "Project" hence "Save" is now labeled as "Save Project."
    • Exporting to a graphic file is now done via "Export Graphics" in the "File" menu.
    • Save As Web Page has been removed. Saving as an HTML format is found under the "Tools" Menu called: "Reports." The "Save As Web Page" HTML file has been defined as a "Project Report" instead of a general "Web Page." The "Loudspeaker System Report" creates an HTML file of a single Loudspeaker System configuration.
  3. Processor Output Labels
    • Processor Output Labeling has been added to all Loudspeaker and Loudspeaker System dialogs so that each speaker element can be designated to a corresponding area of interest.
  4. Reports (Formerly "Save As Web Page")
    • There are two choices for reports. One is the "Project" report and the other is the "Loudspeaker System" report. The project report will output the same as the previous command "Save Web Page As."
    • The Loudspeaker System Report will output only the parameters of the Loudspeaker System. Each Loudspeaker System must be pre-selected to generate a report. The format is native HTML and can be opened into other programs that support HTML formatting for additional customizing.
  5. Additional M-Series Rigging Models.
    • MG-1D (extended M1D and M1D-SUB) (M2D Support is not yet available)
    • MTG-1D (retracted M1D and M1D-SUB)
    • MG-2D (BRP 1,2,3 at the center hole position)
  6. Array Geometry
    • Array Height and Array Depth has been added to the Loudspeaker System Window as well as the Project Report.
  7. Virtual SIM behavior
    • The Virtual SIM window is now open on startup and retains the behavior from the original MAPP Online version 1.3 This allows users to predict microphone locations without having to first predict a sound field.

UPDATES SINCE MAPP ONLINE 1.3.004q

  1. Using "ZIP" files
    • Now when you save your MAPP Project in a ZIP format containing both the XML and DXF format, it will also save the Distance Units, Angle Units and the Geometry Extents. You will no longer have to verify your geometry extents once you have saved it in this new version. It will also save the size of the prediction plane or if you are using the drawing limits of the DXF file.
  2. Multi-Level Visual Aid
    • This was a feature that came about from our discussions with system engineers. This tool allows you to enter data from a Range Finder-Inclinometer position to assist in creating visual aids more quickly. It is very useful for creating virtual balconies or upper concourse levels for vertical predictions.
  3. MAPP Online Nomenclature
    • A few menu item names have been updated since version 2.0.07: EDIT WALLS is now PREDICTION PLANE. WALL 1 (2,3,4) are now SURFACE 1 (2,3,4). INSERT ARRAY WITH RIGGING LOAD is now INSERT LOUDSPEAKER SYSTEM. IMAGE PREFERENCES is now SPL PALETTE and was moved to the VIEW pull-down menu. MEASUREMENT UNITS has been moved to the VIEW pull-down menu.
  4. Project Properties
    • In the FILE pull-down menu is the item: Project Properties. This allows the USER to enter a Project name, Venue, Designer, Date, and Comments. When saved to HTML, this will be at the top of the first page above the Sound Field. This will also post the Version of MAPP used to generate the file.
