The first annual Regeneration Tour has been filling amphitheaters and arenas across North America, as fans turned out in droves for a jam-packed evening of '80s rock legends. And they're getting their money's worth, with five bands presenting a diverse selection of musical styles and hits, ranging from the electronica of The Human League and the synthpop of A Flock of Seagulls and Naked Eyes to power pop from Belinda Carlisle and the blue-eyed soul of ABC. Delivering the musical variety is a powerful Meyer Sound system featuring the MILO line array loudspeaker. Engineer Wayne Pauley continued his run as the hardest-working FOH guy on the road, taking advantage of a short gap between separate world tours with Celtic Woman and The High Kings to man the faders for all five acts on the month-long extravaganza. Provided by East Rutherford, NJ-based Masque Sound, the Meyer Sound system comprised two hangs of ten MILO and two MILO 120 line array loudspeakers per side. Six UPA-1P loudspeakers covered frontfill, and a Galileo loudspeaker management system handled system drive and processing. For Pauley, mixing five bands in a single night made for a long but satisfying day of work. "I'm having so much fun on this tour," Pauley says. "These bands are in top form, and it's just a blast to hear these tunes again." September, 2008 |
