The demand for high-quality sound systems in China has grown drastically in recent years with capital investment in new convention halls, performing arts centers and a variety of entertainment facilities. Building on the strong presence of Meyer Sound installations in the region, the company will showcase a diverse range of new and award-winning audio solutions at PALM Expo 2008 in Beijing, including the latest UPQ-1P loudspeaker and the beloved M'elodie line array loudspeaker. Meyer Sound's knowledgeable staff and representatives of its Chinese distributor, Shanghai MYC Technology Company, Ltd., will be present to welcome visitors and demonstrate a broad sampling of exciting offerings from the company.

Wide Coverage Loudspeaker

The new UPQ-1P wide coverage loudspeaker is the latest addition to Meyer Sound's popular UltraSeries loudspeakers. Perfect for permanent installations including theaters and nightclubs, as well as portable event production applications, the self-powered UPQ-1P produces a peak power output of 136 dB SPL and exhibits exceptionally flat phase and amplitude response. The compact UPA-1P loudspeaker, UPJ-1P and UPJunior VariO loudspeakers and UMS-1P subwoofer will also be shown.

A sure attention-getter at the stand will be the award-winning M'elodie line array loudspeaker, celebrated worldwide for its prodigious power in a petite package. Since its release, M'elodie has been installed in prestigious live performance venues around the world including Netherlands' Vrijthof Theatre, London's Royal Festival Hall, Denmark's Aarhus Theatre and Austria's Festung Kufstein. Musical Billy Elliot has played to sold-out crowds in Australia through the M'elodies, as have The Sound of Music and Gone with the Wind in London's West End. Other members of the MILO line array family will be featured, in addition to the powerful 700-HP subwoofer and the venerable CQ-1 loudspeaker.

Visitors will experience Meyer Sound's robust digital products through hands-on demonstrations of the MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction program, Matrix3 audio show control system, SIM 3 audio analyzer and Galileo loudspeaker management system with Compass control software.

Meyer Sound products have enjoyed enthusiastic acceptance across the region. From southern China to Inner Mongolia, a variety of prestigious installations have been completed recently, with Meyer Sound systems being featured in new performing arts centers in Henan, Wuhan and Dongguan, the lounges and ballrooms of the InterContinental Shenzhen Hotel, and the Happy Valley theme park near Beijing.
