"Since the mid 80s Meyer Sound monitors have been my monitors of choice. They've never let me down. On this recent King Crimson tour .... we didn't even take a monitor man…but we did take our Meyers!"

Impossible to pigeonhole, endlessly innovative, and undoubtedly one of the most influential bands in the history of progressive music, King Crimson recently completed an entirely sold-out American tour culminating in four nights at Nokia Theatre in New York's Times Square.

Meyer Sound products including UM-1P stage monitors and legacy PSM-2 stage monitors were used for stage foldback, mixed from FOH on a Midas XL8 by Ian Bond whose credits include Dream Theater, Marillion, and progressive-metal darlings Porcupine Tree. The latter band's drummer Gavin Harrison was part of the King Crimson lineup for this tour, along with Tony Levin playing bass and Chapman Stick, Robert Fripp on guitar, Adrian Belew on guitar and vocals, and Pat Mastelotto on drums and percussion.

"Since the mid 80s Meyer Sound monitors have been my monitors of choice. They've never let me down," says Mastelotto. "On this recent King Crimson tour, we went to a personal Aviom monitoring system, taking a house send directly from Ian and his mighty Midas. We didn't even take a monitor man…but we did take our Meyers!"

Ian Bond adds: "During production rehearsals at Soundcheck in Nashville, the band was using Meyer Sound wedges and everyone loved them, so it was a logical step to stick with Meyer for the tour," he continues. "We rented from Blackhawk Audio which was great, and the UM-1P and PSM definitely made my dual mixing role easier."
