Meyer Sound at AES: TEC Award Nomination and New Product Announcement Extend a Legacy of Innovation

The UPJunior loudspeaker will be the 26th Meyer Sound product to be nominated for a TEC Award, and the five TEC Awards bestowed on Meyer Sound products will be on view in a display case at the booth. The UPJunior combines the advantages of a self-powered system with the placement and arraying flexibility afforded by a VariO rotatable horn. The astonishing MM-4XP self-powered miniature loudspeaker will also be shown. At the Westin St. Francis on the evening of October 3rd, Meyer Sound will be present as the Platinum Sponsor of the TEC Awards, providing a self-powered sound system featuring the popular MICA line array loudspeaker. MICA was nominated for a TEC Award in 2006.

To satisfy the curious minds interested in Constellation electroacoustic architecture, Steve Ellison, the company's LCS Series applications director, will give a seminar on the groundbreaking technology on Saturday, October 4 at 10:30 AM. The Constellation presentation is free of charge to show attendees. On Thursday, October 2 at 2:30 PM, R&D engineer, Peter Soper, will participate in a panel titled "The SOTA of Designing Loudspeakers for Live Sound." On Sunday, October 5 at 2:30 PM, company CEO John Meyer will join two other panelists in the session titled "Innovations in Live Sound—A Historical Perspective," chaired by Ted Leamy of Pro Media/ UltraSound.
Also of interest to attendees is the AES Technical Tour of the Center for New Music and Audio Technology (CNMAT) at UC Berkeley. Meyer Sound actively participates in leading-edge research at institutions like CNMAT to support ongoing research and to stay a step ahead of the world's most adventurous artists and researchers in the realms of music, recording, and the physics of audio.
