Design Services Assistant

Reporting to the Design Services Manager, the Design Services Assistant is responsible for developing and executing procedures for intake, tracking, and creation of loudspeaker system designs for clients in conjunction with Meyer Sound's Design Services staff. The Design Services Assistant is a full-time non-exempt position.
Monitor incoming design requests and assist with intake of projects by locating and acquiring architectural drawings and other pertinent details from clients.
Maintain digital files and sales support database information pertaining to project design.
Import architectural drawings into design software using AutoCAD, Sketchup, Vectorworks, and/or Revit.
Create loudspeaker designs using MAPP and/or EASE.
Produce equipment lists and sales presentation material using InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
Communicate designs to sales department and outside clients and respond to client concerns and requests regarding those designs.
Review shop drawings and sales orders to confirm accuracy of design before installation.
Participate in system commissioning.
Answer support e-mail from customers.
Communicate clearly and often with all Meyer Sound sales and support staff.
Assist with activities such as department maintenance, archiving project information, architectural drawing conversion, refining database operating procedures and features, gathering and summarizing information, technical training, and product application testing.
Perform site visits and take measurements/create dimensional drawings when needed.
Assist on various special projects as needed and complete other tasks as assigned.
|The candidate must have a BA or BS degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience.|
A minimum of 2 years’ experience with sound reinforcement system design.
AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, and/or Vectorworks experience preferred.
The ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities, work independently and as part of a close team, and excellent communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong computer skills (Windows and Macintosh), including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail and internet.
Experience in acoustical prediction software experience a plus, sound system alignment software experience a plus.
Must pass a general and criminal background check.
